I give Larry Bell credit for having the conviction to leave one of his largest markets because of his distributor issues. Thanks to Dead Dollar Bill Wirtz, once you've chosen a distributor in IL, it's an impossible task to leave them. Wirtz spent millions lobbying Springfield to get that rule in place in the 90s.
I'm still jealous that Bell's isn't in GA but has come to NC and FL. If I can get them and Goose Island, I'll be set.
BTW, if you get the chance to see the documentary American Beer (from Netflix), rent it. These guys go across the country talking to microbrewers and Larry's story is one of the more interesting ones.
