I read this yesterday and almost sent it to you...
I think he makes some very good points, and I also think it's a good window in the roles Jackson and Sharpton play in the black community. Kinda scary. Those two have always reminded me of the paranoid mother who jumps the gun whenever her child is in crisis ("I skinned my knee mommy!" "OMG OMG OMG OMG... Who is to blame for my child's uncoordination?")
The one item I had a problem with was the white president versus black president. Has there been two separate elections all along, and no one told me? If so, why does the media talk about the front-runners needing to get the black community's votes? Perhaps Jason underestimates the community's power...
Or perhaps not. Maybe there's something I don't see or comphrehend...
All I do know is that Barack Obama said yesterday on MSNBC that (kinda verbatim), that he hopes that his daughters, who are tall African American girls, get sports scholarships...
There's something weird in that comment, and I can't put my finger on it. I'm STFU now.
I'm paraphrasing here but Jimmy Norton on the XM Opie and Anthony show yesterday make a great analogy. He said that Imus right now is the 2007 version of Reginald Denny's head.
I'm a Navy husband, stay-at-home-daddy, amateur cook, homebrewer and wannabe writer. I'm always interested in getting in touch with other military husbands and talking about issues affecting male military spouses. Contact info is in my profile.
